Simplifying Architecture Firm Ownership
How to run a more profitable firm without everything depending on you.
Event Starts In
Running your own firm is overwhelming.
You're wearing all the hats. Bringing in the work. Managing projects. Leading the team. Keeping an eye on the numbers. And solving whatever goes wrong.
There's always something that needs to be done. So you're often working nights and weekends and sacrificing other important parts of your life just to keep up.
But running a successful firm shouldn't require this much from you.
You should be able to step away without everything grinding to a halt.
Your team should be able to make decisions without constantly coming to you for the answer.
And if you want to grow your firm and earn more profit?
That shouldn't require adding more work to your own plate and risking burnout.
The solution is to simplify, and that's what this live webinar is all about.
Enoch Sears, founder & CEO of Business of Architecture, will show you how to simplify the business side of your practice so you can build a more profitable, easier-to-run firm without burning yourself out.
What You'll Discover On This Webinar
5 Ways to Simplify Your Firm and Make It More Profitable
Simplify How You Get Work
When new work isn't predictable, it's hard to be selective. You take projects you might otherwise turn down. You compromise on fees. And when things slow down, you're right back to chasing the next project. We'll look at a better approach to business development where finding your next project doesn't depend on you scrambling to make it happen.
Simplify How Your Firm Makes Money
More projects and more revenue don't necessarily mean more profit. If you're undercharging, giving away work, or taking on projects that consume more resources than expected, getting busier can actually make the problem worse. We'll look at the numbers that matter, where profit often gets lost, and how to build a healthier firm without adding more to your plate.
Simplify How You Win Projects
Winning work shouldn't require you to chase every lead, write endless proposals, or compete on price. We'll look at how to have better conversations with prospective clients, communicate the value of your work, and create a simpler path from interested prospect to signed project.
Simplify How You Lead Your Team
Your team is supposed to make your life easier. But if every question, decision, and problem still comes back to you, that's not what's happening. We'll show you how to build and manage a team that can take ownership, make decisions, and move projects forward without constantly needing your validation.
Simplify Your Role as the Owner
There's always something you could be doing. Another email. Another proposal. Another project problem. Another client request. Another team member who needs help. But your job as the owner isn't to become better at doing everything. It's to decide what actually requires you, and build a business that can handle more of the rest without you.
By the end of this webinar, you'll know exactly which of these 5 key areas you can simplify in your business to free up your time, improve your workplace environment, and increase your profit margins.
Who Is This For?
This webinar is for architecture firm owners who are doing good work, but feel like too much of the business still depends on them.
Owners who get the most from it usually run firms of around 3 to 15 people and earn around $500K to $3M in revenue, but if you're a little under or over that, you're welcome here.
You're a good fit if:
- You own an architecture, landscape architecture, interior design, or engineering firm
- Your firm is busy, but you'd like it to be more profitable
- You want a business that can operate without your constant involvement
- You're ready to make real changes in the next 90 days
Probably not for you if:
- You're an employee rather than an owner
- You're looking for general motivation rather than practical application

Meet Your Host
Enoch Bartlett Sears, AIA
Founder, Business of Architecture
Most architects think overwhelm is just part of running a firm. Enoch used to think the same thing. After the 2008 financial crisis, he found himself trying to start an architecture practice during a recession, working a paper route at midnight, substitute teaching during the day, and building a firm late into the night.
His Ivy League architecture education taught him how to design. It taught him nothing about running a business without burning out. So he started asking questions, reaching out to other architects, entrepreneurs, and business mentors. What he discovered: every firm owner he talked to was dealing with the same overwhelm. Stuck in the day-to-day. Unable to step back. Spread too thin.
That's when he founded Business of Architecture, to help his fellow architects build practices that don't require them to sacrifice everything just to keep the doors open. If you're ready to stop carrying your entire firm on your shoulders, this workshop will show you how.
